Honestly, I'd worry about the ram more than the processor. And you can buy the ram on the cheap by yourself. And I'm sure, regardless, they are going to scream compared to mine with CS2. (Not a universal binary)

any reccommendation on the imac?

id probably have to buy it in canada incase i have any problems with it.

the lowest here is 1299$ and next up is $1599 - double the ram and faster processor and better graphics card. I would assume processing large photos through photoshop/photomatix pro could cause some work.

i would save about 300 that could go towards sigma 10-20

hmmm

Get a 20" imac and with the money left over, get a wide angle. and even better, if you live near a state with no sales tax, you save even more money.

I have a 20" imac and have no problems with the screen size. And you'll also need to get an upgrade for photoshop.

My father recently upgraded to Aperture 2. I personally don't use it as I use CS3 and saw paying for both as overkill.

He is looking for an automated function in Aperture 2 to stitch photographs together into panoramas similar to the photomerge function in CS3. Is there a similar feature in Aperture 2 and if so, where is the feature located?

Thank you for the assistance. Aloha!

Chuckl35 provided a link on how to use a reveresed prime lens as a macro. Additionally, with a high megapixel dSLR, you can always get as close as you can and then crop the image. Just a thought.
